Support for CSS concatenation / constants

Reported by Tys von Gaza | February 19th, 2009 @ 10:27 PM

Any way to extend Sprockets to something similar with CSS files?

An alternative to this for CSS would be Compass. It uses SASS rather than CSS, but it might work well for you:

We've talked about extending Sprockets to handle CSS as well. Since CSS already has an import statement, the value would be in concatenation and the ever-shiny "CSS constants" use case.

Intrepid hackers should feel free to attempt this one. There's currently nothing JavaScript-specific about how Sprockets processes files; the same approach would work with any plaintext file.
