Uncaught TypeError: Object function Event() { [native code] } has no method 'observe'

Reported by Matthew Toledo | October 12th, 2010 @ 02:17 AM

controls.js seems to throw an error in Google Chrome 6.0.472.63

The line in question is line 90.

Event.observe(this.element, 'blur', this.onBlur.bindAsEventListener(this));

The error message in Google Chrome's console is...

Uncaught TypeError: Object function Event() { [native code] } has no method 'observe'

    I am getting a similar error when I try the following code:

    Function.method('curry', function ( ) {
    var slice = Array.prototype.slice,
    args = slice.apply(arguments),
    that = this;
    return function ( ) {
    return that.apply(null, args.concat(slice.apply(arguments)));
    }; });

    TypeError: Object function Function() { [native code] } has no method 'method'

    I'm experiencing this issue in Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 in OSX

    The same browser and version in Windows Vista works as expected
