OnClick problem in Internet Explorer browser

Reported by pc | July 7th, 2009 @ 11:07 AM

I am using the scriptaculous Autocompleter with a textarea.
In firefox browser it is working fine.
But in IE6, and IE7 browser it is not working properly.
I am able to view the suggestion list.
When use mouse to select one of the entries from the suggestion list, it closes the suggestion list and the value is not displayed in the textarea also.
There is any problem associated with the onClick function. But same thing is working fine with the firefox browser.
Is there any fix available in scriptaculous for this onclick problem.

    • Tag changed from onclick to autocompleter, li, onclick

I am also facing the same issue. Did you found the solution for this issue? In my application I am using a javascript:function call inside the li tag to set the value in the textarea. I observed that the onlick event is working fine and setting the value in the textbox.

Again, one more call comes from the javascript function, which sets the value in the textbox to blank. Somehow, I have to disable the second call. I am observing this issue in both IE7 and IE8.

I also noticed that onclick does not work the same as other browsers do, you could try onmouseup :)
