formElement.<attribute> gives incorrect value (IE6)

Reported by Menno Pruijssers | May 9th, 2008 @ 12:04 PM | in 1.6.0.3

Example html:

js:

var formElement = $('foo');

var id = formElement.id; (or formElement.identity(), or formElement.readAttribute('id'))

When using IE6 the value of id is the -element instead of 'foo'

(IE7 and firefox 2 & 3 gives no problem)

Possible fix:

var id = formElement.cloneNode(false).id;
