#398 bug

Ajax: onInteractive is *never* sent

Reported by Georgio8 | October 20th, 2008 @ 04:49 PM | in After 1.7

I've been happily using Prototype.js for a while and appreciate the cleaner O-O code that it helps me write.

But this was the first upset I've had and I wasted a day on it:

The Ajax class documentation says:

onInteractive (Not guaranteed) Triggered whenever the requester receives a part of the response (but not the final part), should it be sent in several packets.

Ok, not guaranteed, but I'm coding an app for Firefox and I verified that FF does handle the onInteractive state. So I assumed that Prototype's Ajax would implement it as implied by the documentation and that it was my fault that I couldn't make my code see it until I recoded using a basic JS XMLHttpRequest and found it was working fine!

So I looked inside your code and couldn't see anything to handle State 3 at all!

I don't want to mess things up by patching it myself, so I'll leave it to you.
