Indian Diwali Festival

Reported by Kean | October 11th, 2017 @ 01:30 PM

Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is honored to honor Rama-chandra, the seventh avatar (manifestation of the god Vishnu). It is considered that on this day Rama turned to his people after 14 years of exile while which he competed and won a battle facing the vampires and the demon king, Ravana. People lit their residences to celebrate his victory over evil (light over darkness). The goddess of happiness and good luck, Lakshmi, also figures into the celebration. It is considered that she roams the Earth on this day and starts the house that is pure, clean, and fair.
People send funny Diwali jokes to their loved ones. Social media is also one of the best ways to greet your loved ones with Diwali funny status.

The five-day festival is seen to be one of the most prominent ones in the Indian culture.

The word itself means 'series of lights' and through the festival houses and shops are illuminated with candles and lights.

This is determined to serve light over darkness and the Hindu belief that good will always triumph over evil.

For many Indians, Diwali honors Lakshmi, the goddess of money and people will start the new business year at Diwali and some will say prayers to the goddess for a wealthy year ahead.
