Element.invisible() / Element.visible()

Reported by Max Felker | September 17th, 2010 @ 05:30 PM

Found a need to toggle the CSS property visibility on elements. Need came from implementing JS slideshows/tabs classes that required images/text to be SEO friendly. Setting display:none; on images/text will hide this from crawlers.

Purposed Idea:

Add Element.invisible() and Element.visible() to toggle visibility CSS property. It could be added underneath the hide/show functions.

   invisible: function(element) {
    element = $(element);
    element.style.visibility = 'hidden';
    return element;

  visible: function(element) {
    element = $(element);
    element.style.visibility = 'visible';
    return element;
