Prototype version 1.6 hinders ColdFusion tag <cfmessagebox>

Reported by mrlife | March 4th, 2010 @ 01:35 AM

When used to confirm (button options: yes, no), cfmessagebox sends a
button value to a javascript callbackhandler. If the user clicked the
yes button, the callbackhandler can check if the button's value is
"yes". This is the behavior expected of cfmessagebox, and it works in Prototype If Prototype 1.6 is used instead, the button value
in the javascript callbackhandler is always the number 1, presumably
indicating that a button was clicked. Can cfmessagebox be used
correctly with Prototype 1.6?

Browsers tested with: Firefox 3.6, Chrome 5.0.335.0, and Safari 4.0.4

ColdFusion version tested with: 9

UPDATED: Rendered html from browser added. ColdFusion includes a handful of javascript libraries that can be seen in this file.

    • Tag changed from cfmessagebox, coldfusion, prototype to needs:failing_testcase
    • State changed from “new” to “incomplete”

    Hi mrlife,

In order for us to accurately diagnose the issue, we would need the rendered source from your browser instead of the coldfusion source. Can you attach the results of the rendered html please?

I've attached a cleaned up version of your file. I"m still unsure what's going on though, as there are a ton of different scripts in there, along with the YUI event and animation scripts.

A minimal test case should include nothing but what's absolutely needed to reproduce the error. There are just too many vectors otherwise.

This is as lean as I can get it without combing through the javascript sources. Should I attach the javascript files so that the behavior can be observed? Thanks.

I'm afraid you'll need to do the combing if you want this issue solved. Remember this is an open-source project you get to use for free.

    Thanks for your understanding.
