findElements() do not handle correctly 'id' [Chrome][1.6.1]

Reported by Jean-Philippe Encausse | February 2nd, 2010 @ 06:13 PM

In methods findElements: function(root) { ... }. The case 'selectorsAPI' is doing the following code:

var oldId = root.id, id = $(root).identify();
id = id.replace(/([\.:])/g, "\\$1");
...
root.id = oldId;

And should be fixed with:

var oldId = root.readAttribute('id'), id = $(root).identify();
id = id.replace(/([\.:])/g, "\\$1");
...
root.setAttribute('id',oldId);

Because a FORM may contains an Input Element with name "id". Calling this form with select() method will set id of the form to "Object HTMLElement"
