event.stop() documentation - default behaviour and checkboxes

Reported by Brendan Braybrook | May 25th, 2012 @ 07:45 PM

"Because stopping one of those aspects means, in 99.9% of the cases, preventing the other one as well, Prototype bundles both in this stop function."

it is perhaps worth noting in the documentation that event.stop() works very poorly when the event handler is onClick for a checkbox element, as preventing the default action causes the browser to revert the checkbox to the state before the user clicked on it.

if the docs mentioned that you could also use "event.stopPropagation();event.stopped = true;" to handle the 0.01% case where you want the default action to occur, it would be quite helpful.
